What’s a KiKi, you say?
A “kiki” (kee-kee) is a term which grew out of black and latino gay social culture. It’s loosely defined as an expression of laughter, or rather an onomatopoeia for laughing, that extended to mean a gathering of friends for the purpose of gossiping and chit-chat. The term became more widely known after the release of the song Let’s Have a Kiki by Scissor Sisters.
So let’s laugh and cry and throw loving and joyful shade!
